Hadiqa Kayani is one of the well-known singers of Pakistan who has received immense acclaim from all over the world.
Hadiqa has expressed anger over Indian singer Kanika Kapoor, saying that the lyrics and poetry of my song were used without permission.
Sharing a screenshot of the Indian singer’s song and promotional campaign on Insta Stories, the singer said that many Indian singers have copied this song without permission before, besides that this song was added in a film by Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta without any royalty.
Hadiqa clarified in the post that she has no problem with Kanika Kapoor stealing the song but she should get prior permission before using the song as she has all the rights reserved.
She said that ‘Bohe Bariyan’ sung by Indian singers has garnered up to 200 million views on YouTube but they have not been given any royalty in this regard till date, and the practice of stealing Pakistani music has been forgotten.
The lyrics of the song were written by Hadiqa’s mother. Many users on YouTube gave credit and said that this song was first sung by Hadiqa Kayani.
This stealth song of Kanika Kapoor has got more than 36 lakh 44 thousand views in just 2 days.
Released in 1999, Bohe Bariyan was the most popular song of its time and is still popular today.
It was included in Hadiqa’s album Roshni.
After making her acting debut in the drama serial ‘Raqeeb Se’ last year, Hadiqa is currently appearing in ‘Dobara’ with Bilal Abbas.
In this play, Hadiqa Kayani is playing the role of a widow (Mehru Nisa) who is free to live her life on her own terms after the death of her husband (Noman Ijaz).
The story of the play revolves around the serial struggle of Mehru Nisa and the opposition she faces from both her family and society.
The play has received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike for its unique story. I include the reaction of the society.
