After this objection of PML-N, Hamza Shahbaz has announced to challenge the election of Speaker Punjab Assembly in the court.
It should be noted that the Muslim League-N and its allies have faced another defeat in Punjab, the joint candidate of Tehreek-e-Insaf and Muslim League-Q, Sabtain Khan, was elected Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.
After the polling for the election of the new Speaker of the Punjab Assembly was over, the Panel of Chair Waseem Baduzai announced the results. The opposition candidate secured 175 votes.
While the joint candidate of Tehreek-e-Insaf and Muslim League-Q, Sabatin Khan was elected Speaker of the Punjab Assembly by getting 185 votes.
It has been reported that 4 votes were lost for the election of the Speaker, while Chaudhry Nisar, Rana Kashif, Jalil Sharqpuri, Ghiyasuddin did not participate in the voting process.
After the announcement of the results of the Speaker Punjab Assembly election, the house echoed with the slogans of the Tehreek-e-Insaf members.

The candidate of the speaker, Saiful Mulok Khokhar, protested that there should not be a serial number on the ballot.

While during the voting process, the presiding officer was attacked by the Muslim League-N members, after which security had to be called in the House.

On this occasion, Tehreek-e-Insaf and Muslim League-Q candidate Sabatin Khan submitted a written complaint to the panel of chair and asked that the ballot papers snatched from the assembly staff by the League MPs should be recovered.
It should be noted here that the resolution for the election of a new speaker was approved in the Punjab Assembly yesterday, and the resolution for the no-confidence motion against the deputy speaker was also approved.
The resolution was presented by PTI Member Punjab Assembly Raja Basharat. PTI MLA Sabtain Khan from Mianwali was nominated for the post of Speaker by the ruling alliance comprising PTI and Muslim League (Q), while opposition parties Muslim League (N) and PPP nominated joint candidate Saiful Muk Khokhar.
