The cast and director remuneration details of the Indian web series ‘Heeramandi – The Diamond Bazaar’ released on international streaming platform Netflix have been revealed.
According to a report published in the news website ‘Money Control’, the total budget of famous Indian director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series Heeramandi was 200 crore Indian rupees.
The report details that ‘Sanjay Leela Bhansali has charged Rs 60-70 crore for his directorial venture, which is more than most Bollywood actors.
Among the actors in the series, Sonakshi Sinha who plays the role of ‘Fareedan’ is the highest-paid. Sonakshi has received Rs 2 crore for her role.
Manisha Koirala, who played the role of ‘Malika Jaan’ in the series, has received a compensation of 1 crore.
Aditi Rao Hydari, who played the role of ‘Bibbu Jaan’ in ‘Heeramandi’, was paid between one and a half, while Richa Chadha received Rs 1 crore and Sanjedya Shaikh Rs 40 lakh.
Sharmin Sehgal, who was criticized for her ‘unsatisfying acting’ after the release of the series, has received Rs 30 lakhs to play the role of ‘Alam Zeb’.
It may be noted that Sharmin Sehgal is the niece of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and she made her debut with the series ‘Heeramandi’.
On the other hand, Fardeen Khan, who made a comeback in Bollywood after a long gap of 14 years, received Rs 75 lakhs for playing the role of Nawab.
‘Heeramndi’ is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first web series on Netflix which has been released on the streaming platform since May 1.
