Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has revealed plans to cast Pakistani actors for his first web series Heeramandi.
In an interview given to Indian media, Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed that the idea of Heeramandi was with him for 18 years, but the film could not be made because the story was too broad.
The Indian director said that 18 years ago his idea cast included Rekha, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji, but later the cast changed from one cast to another.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali said that at one time he thought of casting Pakistani actors Imran Abbas, Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan for this film, but then the idea changed.
He further said that this film has been in the making for almost three years for which we shot for more than 300 days but now I am very happy with the cast selected for Heeramandi.
It should be noted that Heeramandi now features Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharman Segal, Taha Shah, Fardeen Khan and Shekhar Suman among other actors.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first web series, Heeramandi – The Diamond Bazaar will be available on Netflix starting today.
