Muhammad Junaid Safdar, the son of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has said that he will not stand in the election. And will not participate in politics at present.
Speaking to Geo News on phone after arriving in Lahore on Thursday night, Junaid Safdar explains that he will not join politics. As he will be living in Pakistan full-time after completing his studies in the UK.
He says that he is not currently interested in Pakistani politics. And he move to Pakistan only to take care of his mother and family responsibilities. He will help his mother in work and family matters but will not participate in politics.
After the news report, media speculation started that Maryam Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan in the third week of January and her sons will arrive in Pakistan before her and spend full time in Lahore to support his mother.
Junaid Safdar holds two master’s and two bachelor’s degrees from UK universities, including one from Cambridge University last summer.

He is a polo enthusiast and wins many competitions while playing for UK universities.
Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz will return to London from Geneva in about a week. Then Maryam Nawaz will leave for Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif’s return date has not been fixed. But sources say that preparations are underway for his return to Pakistan in a few months. Junaid Safdar confirmed that his mother plans to return to Pakistan in the third week and will focus on politics full time.
