ICC World Cup: Govt allows Pakistan cricket team to travel to India. According to News on Sunday, which cited the Foreign Office (FO), the government approved the Pakistan cricket team’s trip to India to compete in the upcoming ICC Men’s World Cup 2023, which set to begin on October 15.

The government decided to send Pakistan’s cricket team to India to compete in the upcoming ICC World Cup, according to a statement from the Foreign Office (FO), because “it consistently maintained that sports not mixed with politics.”

Pakistan believes that fulfilling its obligations to participate in international sports events not hindered by the state of its bilateral relations with India, according to the statement.

India had refused to send its cricket team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, so Pakistan’s decision demonstrates its “constructive and responsible approach,” according to the statement.

Pakistan, noted in the statement, has serious concerns about the safety of its cricket team. The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Indian authorities will hear the government’s concerns.

The statement concluded, “We expect that complete safety and security of the Pakistan Cricket Team ensured during its visit to India.
