India: Puja begins in the basement of the Gyanvapi Masjid

Hindu priest have started the pooja after getting permission to perform the puja in the basement of the Gyanvapi Masjid in Varanasi.

After martyring the Babri Masjid, extremist Hindus decided to capture another historical mosque of the Mughal era.

According to Indian media reports, after the martyrdom of the Babri Masjid in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the 30-year-old barriers installed in the basement of the said mosque were removed on the decision of the District Court of Varanasi yesterday.

The court said in the verdict that the priests of the Kashi Vishwanath temple will conduct the puja in the mosque.

Immediately after the court’s verdict, last night the priests turned to the basement of the mosque, also known as ‘Vyas’ basement’.

They installed a ‘temple’ board near the mosque and started the puja at 3 pm.

An Indian court has allowed worship in the basement of a historic mosque.

According to Indian media reports, a heavy force has been deployed around the mosque to prevent any untoward incident.

On the other hand, the mosque administration has decided to challenge this unilateral decision of the Sessions Court in the High Court.

It should be noted that the basement of this mosque was sealed 30 years ago on the order of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

However, yesterday, the sessions court of Varanasi directed the district administration that Hindus are also allowed to worship, and the barriers erected in the mosque should be removed within a week.
