The inside story of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation’s meeting with Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has come out.
IMF Chief Nathan Porter spoke to Chairman PTI through video link.
In IMF delegation’s meeting, Chairman PTI said, “What guarantee do you give that the elections will held on time?”
The IMF delegation said that the IMF is keeping a close watch on the situation in the country. We cannot interfere in political matters beyond a limit.
According to the sources, the IMF delegation said that the directors of the executive board will take their point of view in their meeting. What will be the position of the executive board regarding the political issues of Pakistan, they cannot predict. But the members of the executive board are free to give their opinion.

The IMF delegation said their position would included in the IMF staff report. Adding that the IMF’s program is designed in such a way that the transition of power is expected to be timely.
According to sources, the IMF delegation also said that it hoped that the watchdog setup under this design will conduct elections on time during its tenure as per the constitution.
