The fire in the private shopping mall Centaurs in the federal capital Islamabad brings under control.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) confirms in a statement on Twitter. That the fire at the private shopping mall bring under control after two hours.
CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Retired Captain Mohammad Usman Younis says that Fire Brigade, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force and Rescue 1122 participate in the fire fighting operation.
Earlier, there was a fire on the fourth floor of the famous shopping mall.
There are also residential apartments in Centaurus Mall in Sector F8, Islamabad. Where a large number of people from the twin cities visit for shopping.
In a tweet on the social networking site, the capital’s police informs about the safe evacuation of all the people inside the mall. Police further says that the team was conducting a search operation inside the mall.
IG Islamabad Police Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, senior police officers and administrative officials also reached the spot.
The police states that a helicopter is also call for rescue and fire fighting.
He says that the fire inside the mall bring under control and no shop is damage. But there is a light fire in the outer part of the mall which is extinguishs.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson of the Pakistan Navy says that the agency is also assisting in the fire-fighting efforts, adding that a navy team and three fire tenders are also deploy.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, taking notice of the fire in Centaurus Mall of Islamabad. He directs the relevant institutions and authorities of the federal capital to take immediate action.
In his statement on Twitter, he says that it is very regrettable that this incident takes place in this well-known business center. We pray that there is no loss of life, while we are sorry and sympathize with the financial losses of the victims.
