The Supreme Court of Pakistan has ruled in the case of dissolution of the National Assembly by the President on April 3, Rolling of Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri.
A five-member bench of the apex court unanimously ruled that the dissolution of the National Assembly by the President on the advice of Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri on April 3 and the Prime Minister’s advice to reject the no-confidence movement was unconstitutional.
Where the reaction of politicians to the decision of the Supreme Court came to light, Pakistani host and comedian Shafaat Ali also made an interesting comment. “Alhamdulillah Khan Sab became the Prime Minister for the third time in a week, a world record,” Shafaat Ali wrote in a statement on Twitter.
He further said that ‘Long live the Constitution of Pakistan’.
It is to be noted that the no-confidence movement against Prime Minister Imran Khan was to be voted on Sunday but the Deputy Speaker National Assembly rejected the movement declaring it unconstitutional.
After the rejection of the resolution, Imran Khan in his address to the nation asked the President of Pakistan to dissolve the National Assembly after which President Arif Alvi had dissolved the National Assembly but now the Supreme Court has restored the National Assembly.
