Lahore: Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has said that Virat Kohli should consider himself a normal player and play freely as the former India captain has found it difficult to score runs in the ongoing IPL.
Speaking to a media outlet, Shoaib Akhtar said that even a player like Virat Kohli could be dropped if he does not score runs.
This is a performance based IPL franchise model where no one will be forgiven, not even Virat Kohli.
If Virat Kohli does not perform then he can be dropped.
Some things I can’t say right now. There are not one but 10,000 things going on in Kohli’s mind, he is a good man, a good player and a great cricketer but I want him to focus on only one thing at a time.
The fast bowler added that Virat should only consider himself an ordinary player who would allow him to play with an open mind.
Kohli consider himself a normal player, pick up your call and just play, people are already pointing fingers at Virat Kohli and it is dangerous.
So far in the ongoing Indian Premier League, Virat Kohli has scored 119 runs in six innings at an average of 23.80.
