‘Lata refused to perform at the wedding for 100 million dollars,’ Asha Bhosle

Singer Asha Bhosle, sister of late Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar, popularly known as ‘Bubble India’, has revealed that her elder sister had refused to perform at a wedding for millions of dollars.

Lata Mangeshkar passed away on February 6, 2022 at the age of 92 after a short period of treatment.

Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the hospital with corona and pneumonia and had been in the hospital for about two months but died on February 6 due to multiple organ failure.

In memory of Lata Mangeshkar, the first ‘Dinanath Lata Mangeshkar’ award ceremony was recently held by her family and other organizations, where Asha Bhosle made revelations about her elder sister.

According to Hindustan Times, addressing the first awards function held in the memory of Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle said that her elder sister used to prefer work even in illness and once she recorded a song in 104 fever.

She said that as a child she used to wash his parents’ feet and drink this water at the request of Lata Mangeshkar, due to which both the sisters got success.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also received the first Lata Award.

Facebook Asha Bhosle revealed that an Indian man living abroad invited her and Lata Mangeshkar to perform at the wedding and sent them tickets worth millions of dollars. She said the expatriate wanted Lata and Asha Bhosle to sing at his wedding but she turned down the offer.

According to Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkar called the invitee and said that even if he paid her 10 100 million for the performance, she would not perform at the wedding.

The singer said that her elder sister bluntly told the invitee that they do not sing at weddings.

Remember that Asha Bhosle is also one of the most famous singers in India, after Lata she is considered as a legendary singer.

She is Lata’s younger sister. Born on September 28, 1929 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Lata Mangeshkar was the eldest of five siblings.

She started singing at the age of 13 after the death of his father in 1942 and sang about 30,000 songs in various languages ​​spoken in India.

Lata Mangeshkar has been awarded India’s biggest civil awards Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhush besides Dada Sahib Phalke Award.

Due to her immense fame, she was invited by the government to sing a patriotic tribute to the soldiers killed in the 1962 Indo-China War at the Indian Republic Day celebrations in January 1963.

It is said that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had tears in his eyes when she heard Lata Mangeshkar’s song ‘Ay meray watan k logo’.
