Leading Businessman Seth Abid’s Daughter Murdered by Her Adopted Son

Farah Mazhar, daughter of well-known businessman Seth Abid, was allegedly shot dead by her foster son in Muslim Town area of ​​Lahore.

According to the Media, Farah Mazhar, 64, was living in Muslim Town with her foster son Fahad and a daughter.

Fahad allegedly shot his mother in the abdomen, and her daughter rushed her to a nearby hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries.

The victim was the mother of 3 foster children including 2 sons Farid, Fahad and a daughter while the husband of the slain woman is residing in USA.

Police have shifted the body to the morgue for autopsy and have registered a case on the complaint of Farid, the second son of the victim based in Defense.

Police teams have also collected forensic evidence from the scene and recovered the weapon used in the murder.

Taken Police have arrested Fahad and two of his employees and are investigating, while a 40-year-old housemaid, Razia, has also been detained for questioning.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations Sohail Chaudhry said that the preliminary investigation had revealed that the woman’s adopted son had shot dead the mother over a marital dispute.

He said the accused first told police that his mother had committed suicide but police found evidence that he was killed in a room where furniture was smashed and a weapon used in the murder was missing.

The DIG said police had arrested the suspect and two of his employees, adding that servants had revealed that Fahad had shot and killed his mother over a marital dispute and had committed suicide.

He also distorted the location to give and hid the pistol under the floor.

He said that the police had recovered the weapon used in the murder and started investigation.

Fahd’s elder brother Farid told the media that his younger brother had killed his mother and they demanded justice.

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz has taken notice of the murder and demanded a report from the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

He said that the killer should be arrested and dealt with full force of law and justice should be provided to the relatives of the slain in any case.

Dr Amara Shirazi, SP, Iqbal Town, told reporters that the police had started investigation from all angles and the weapons recovered from the spot had been sent to forensic lab.

It may be recalled that in 2006 Seth Abid’s son Seth Hafiz Ayaz Ahmed and 5 others were shot dead by a security guard in Stokatla.

Trader Seth Abid, one of the 30 richest men in the country, died on January 8, 2021 at a Karachi hospital at the age of 85 after a short illness.
