LUMS celebrated ‘Bollywood Day’. The students of Lahore University of Management and Sciences freshly celebrated ‘Bollywood Day’ as a farewell event for the senior batch.
The videos of the event went viral, illustrating anger among netizens. Majority of the people believe that there is no harm if people are enjoying their final days at the university.
The event was planned to promote cultural exchange and understanding, but many Pakistanis saw it as a promotion of Indian culture and an insult to their own. In the video, it can be seen noticeably that the students were dressed up in their favorite Bollywood characters.
Students learned dialogues from altered Bollywood movies like ‘Ye Babu Rao ka Style Hai’.
Here we have the video:
Some of the social users supported the idea although the majority criticized it.

Pakistanis are getting triggered by this video from LUMS because as a nation we are ANTI FUN. Being happy is prohibited. The violence of Ertugral is more suited to our sorry taste. pic.twitter.com/f0NxDHd0eS

People losing their shit over lums having a Bollywood day is so funny to me. People are suffering daily due to the economic conditions of the country. Tweet about that instead of criticising a bunch of kids for dressing up like the movie characters we ALL grew up watching.

Idk why people are getting furious at this "bollywood day" in LUMS. Being a 90's kid, I enjoyed bollywood for a major chunk of my life while Syed Noor Pakistan was busy making Saima and Shan dance wierdly in crops, so I'm not sorry if we relate more to bollywood characters.

Why are they not accepting ‘Bollywood Day’ we grew up watching Bollywood movies and almost at every wedding we select Bollywood songs for the dances then why people are criticizing celebrating ‘Bollywood Day’? The video has garnered thousands of views on Twitter.
A nation obsessed over Bollywood movies for decades, where every wedding predominantly features Bollywood songs is suddenly outraged over LUMS celebrating Bollywood day. ????♂️

Indeed we are a sadist society who can't see people enjoying their lives
These kids only celebrated Bollywood Day, I loved the fun they had. What’s wrong in it? Let them live a few happy years of their lives before they are trapped in mundane situations of of practical life when in jobs. #LUMS pic.twitter.com/VkuomvlDnR

the hate lums kids are receiving for bollywood day is plain hypocrisy. indian content is literally always in the top 10 on Netflix in pakistan.
