Mosque burned into ashes in Sweden. The Eskilstuna mosque fire in central Sweden looked into by Swedish police as a potential case of arson.
The mosque sustained significant damage from the Monday night fire, but fortunately no one hurt.
The police posted a statement on their website that read, “The fire investigation is ongoing. When investigating whether there were security cameras in the area, police will question witnesses.
In their ongoing investigation, police have not yet made any arrests and are currently looking for witnesses and reviewing security camera footage.
“The mosque almost completely destroyed, nothing can saved,” mosque spokesman Anas Deneche told AFP.
Deneche mentioned that his family had received threats and that the mosque had been the target of previous acts of violence over the previous year.

He emphasized that any conclusions about the fire’s cause postponed until the police finished their probe.
Eskilstuna is home to between 15,000 and 20,000 Muslims, so the mosque which is burned in to ashes in Sweden serves as both a religious and social gathering place for locals.
