My Main Goal is To Win 2 World Cups for Pakistan: Babar Azam

Lahore (Diariespk June 14, 2022) Pakistan’s all-format captain and top-ranked white ball batsman Babar Azam expressed his main goal for Pakistan to win two World Cups in the next year and a half.

Babar Azam, who has been in excellent form in white ball cricket for more than a year and is number one in the rankings, said that if he leads his team to the World Cup, his runs will be worth one goal.

There is no doubt that I am enjoying my form but with this form my main goal is to win two World Cups for Pakistan in next one and half years and if that happens then I will feel that my runs are in gold.

The batsman, who is at the top position in the ODI rankings, also said that his team needs to improve in order to assert itself as a force in the 50 overs format.

“We still need to improve in some areas,” Babar said after the clean sweep victory against the West Indies. “

We still lose a lot of wickets in the middle overs in ODIs which puts us on the back foot.

Here the players need to pay better attention, it should be worked on, the fielding has improved but Our body language deteriorates even when a good partnership is formed, this is another thing we can try and improve.

The Pakistani captain took a closer look at his team’s performance in the recently concluded ODI series against the West Indies and also commented on the team’s bench strength, claiming that it gives them a lift.

“We tried a different bowling unit and they performed very well,” Babar said.

“As a captain it is very satisfying to see that. The power of the bench always gives you a lift, it’s good to know that you have players on the bench who are ready to use,” he said. We had Iftikhar Ahmed, Abdullah Shafiq and Shahnawaz Dahani on the bench.
