After other Muslim League (N) leaders, Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman also predicts the return of party chief Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan within a month.
According to media, this claim has come out on behalf of Balighur Rehman at a time when Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah arrived in London to meet Mr. Nawaz.
Talking to journalists, Governor Punjab claims that “Nawaz Sharif is returning to Pakistan in a month and I will go to the airport to welcome him”.
He further states that the chief organizer of Muslim League (N) Maryam Nawaz will also return to the country within a week.

Earlier, other party leaders like Rana Sanaullah, Ayaz Sadiq, Javed Latif, Attaullah Tarar and Malik Ahmed Khan also predicted the return of Nawaz. The Governor of Punjab has now reiterated these claims especially in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Punjab Governor’s claim of Nawaz Sharif’s return within a month reflects the ‘restlessness’ in the party ranks over his prolonged absence. As the local leadership believes that if Mian Sab does not return, there may be rifts in the party.
It should be noted that former Prime Minister and his daughter Maryam have been residing in the UK since November 2019 and October 2022 respectively due to various medical reasons.
