NEPRA informed an increase of Rs4.34 per unit in power tariff on account of fuel cost adjustment for the month of July 2022.
The announcement came in response to the request from the Central Power Purchasing Agency-Guarantee (CPPA-G) for a tariff upsurge of Rs7.96 per unit.
The hike would apply to the customers of all distribution companies (DISCOs) excluding for lifeline consumers. It would not apply to the K-Electric consumers, the regulator said in a statement.
The latest hike will be charged in the bills for October 2022, read the notification.
On September 6, Nepra approved an increase of Rs3.39 per unit in power tariff on account of the fourth quarter adjustment of 2021-22.

According to facts, The NEPRA has hiked the power tariff under the quarterly fuel adjustment mechanism. The additional from customers will be introduced from October.
