Oscars 2023: India wins 2 awards

Bollywood swept the field at the 95th Oscars 2023 Awards in Los Angeles, winning Best Song and Best Documentary Short Film.

According to foreign media reports, the famous song ‘Naatu Naatu’ of the Indian film ‘RRR’, nominated for the Oscar awards, wins the Best Original Song.

Kartiki Gonsalves’ documentary The Elephant Whisperers wins the Best Documentary Short Subject award.

However, All That Breathes, the third nominee from India in the Best Documentary Feature Film category, failed to work its magic.

Apart from this, Malala Yousafzai also participated in the 95th Oscars 2023 ceremony. But her short-lived documentary Stranger at the Gate did not win the Oscars.

It should remember that the Oscars were hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, while Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone and Pakistani-born British actor Riz Ahmed also hosted the Oscars.

Deepika Padukone, resplendent in black Louis Vuitton, joined as a presenter – introducing a live performance of Naatu Naatu, sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, and danced by Lauren Gottlieb.
