Pakistan National Assembly Accepts 11 PTI MNAs Resignation

Pakistan National Assembly accepts 11 PTI MNAs resignation, after the approval of Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, 11 MNAs including Dr. Shireen Mazari, Ali Muhammad Khan, Farrukh Habib, a letter was sent to the Election Commission for de-notification.

According to the details, important progress has been made in accepting the resignations of 131 members of the National Assembly of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

According to the report, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf decided to accept the resignations of Tehreek-e-Insaf members of the National Assembly in stages after consulting Khurshid Shah, Ayaz Sadiq and Khawaja Saad Rafiq.

According to the announcement of the National Assembly Secretariat, the resignations of 11 members of the National Assembly of Tehreek-e-Insaf have been accepted, among them Dr. Shireen Mazari, Ali Mohammad Khan, Farrukh Habib, Fazal Khan, Shaukat Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Ijaz Shah, Jameel Ahmed Khan, Akram Cheema, Shakur Shaad, Shandana Gulzar are included.

It has been reported that after the resignations of the above mentioned 11 MNAs were accepted, a formal letter was also sent to the Election Commission to de-notify them.

It should be noted that the PTI members of the assembly had announced their resignation on the floor of the National Assembly after the no-confidence motion against former Prime Minister Imran Khan was successful.

On April 11, 2022, a total of 131 members of the National Assembly of Tehreek-e-Insaf had submitted their resignations to the Deputy Speaker, but later the newly elected Speaker of the National Assembly, Raja Pervez Ashraf, did not accept the resignations until the members were present and confirmed.

It should also be noted that 20 defected National Assembly members of PTI are still part of the House.
