Pakistani director, writer and actor Saeem Sadiq’s short film ‘Joyland’ was screened at Cannes, the world’s largest film festival.
Joyland had its world premiere on May 22 and the film crew appeared on the red carpet.
The film’s director Saeem Sadiq and his cast including actress Sarwat Gilani and Sania Saeed shared the photos taken during the red carpet at the premiere of ‘Joyland’ and gave good news to the fans.
The movie ‘Joyland’ based on the story of transgender people has not been released in Pakistan yet, it will probably be announced online soon.
Producers Sarmad Khost and Apoorva Charan’s film also stars Ali Junejo, Alina Khan, Safina Jaffery and others.
Prior to the film, Saeem Sadiq’s 2019 film “Darling” was screened at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals in addition to Cannes, and its story revolves around the problems of transgender people.
Apart from the premiere of ‘Joyland’, actresses Sania Saeed and Sarwat Gilani also showcased their fashion at the Cannes Film Festival and shared their photos on Instagram.
Apart from Pakistani actresses, several Indian actresses including Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai and Hina Khan are also present at the Cannes Festival.
The Cannes Festival, the world’s largest film festival, began on May 17 and will run until May 28.
