Petrol price increased by Rs19.95 per litre

Petrol price increased by Rs19.95 per litre. According to News, the federal government increased the cost of gasoline by Rs 19.95 per litre on Tuesday in preparation for the upcoming fortnightly review.

In a press conference held here, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar disclosed new prices.

Dar stated, “The price of petrol has increased by Rs19.95 per litre to Rs272.95, while the price of high-speed diesel has increased by Rs19.90 to Rs273.40.”

He added that the revised prices took effect right away and that a rise in fuel prices unavoidable given the IMF’s commitment to adding the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) to the rates.

The FinMin continued by stating that Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, consulted before the prices raised.

However, the finance minister made no mention of any adjustments to the price of light-diesel or kerosene.

It is important to note that because consultations continued into the early hours of Tuesday, the government was unable to announce the fortnightly adjustment in petroleum product prices on Monday.
