To pay tribute to legendary pop singer Nazia Hassan on her 22nd death anniversary. Music streaming website Spotify displayed her image for the first time on the billboards of Times Square in New York, USA.
Nazia Hassan, who sang songs like, Aankhe Milane wale, Dosti, Disco Dewane, Boom Boom and Dil Ki Lagi, died of cancer on 13 August 2000.
She has the importance of a princess in Asian pop music and the magic of her voice still resonates today.
Spotify paid tribute to her on the occasion of her anniversary this year by displaying her photo in Times Square.
On which music and showbiz personalities also thanked the music website.
Spotify displayed Nazia Hassan’s photo in Times Square as part of a project called Equal Pakistan. Which the website launched in March this year.
In March 2022, for the first time, Spotify began displaying pictures of singers under the project name Equal Pakistan in Times Square. The first photo was displayed of Pakistani-American singer Arooj Aftab.
Nazia Hussain’s photo as singer of the Month was displayed at Times Square.
Nazia Hasan’s picture display at Times Square was also share by her brother, singer Zohaib Hassan.
