PSL-8: Lahore Qalandars defeated Quetta Gladiators

In the 10th match of HBL PSL-8, Lahore Qalandars defeated Quetta Gladiators by 63 runs. 

This match played at the National Stadium Cricket Arena in Karachi. In pursuit of the target of 199 set by the Qalandars. The Gladiators team managed to score 135 runs in 20 overs. 

Gladiators’ big batting line-up failed against Qalandars’ excellent bowling attack. 

Jason Roy scored 45 runs while Mohammad Hafeez scored 25 runs. Sarfaraz Ahmed scored 16 runs and Martin Guptill scored 15 runs. 

Apart from them, none of the Gladiators’ batters could perform well. 

On behalf of Lahore Qalandars, Shaheen Shah Afridi and David Wiese showed good bowling performance. And dismissed 3 players while Rashid Khan and Sikandar Raza got one wicket each.  

It should noted that Quetta Gladiators won the toss and invited Lahore Qalandars to bat first. 

Qalandar’s openers gave the team a smoky start, with Fakhar Zaman playing a 22-run innings and being caught out by Smith. 

 Young batsman Tahir Baig once again batted aggressively and scored 31 runs off 15 balls. He was caught out by Mohammad Nawaz

Lahore Qalandars scored 65 runs for the loss of 2 players in the first 6 overs.

The Qalandars continues to lose wickets at intervals but the batters continued to contribute to the innings before being dismissed.

Middle-order batsman Shai Hope played an outstanding innings of 47 runs, Sikandar Raza remained not out with 32 runs.

Apart from them, Hussain Talat scored 26 runs. Kamran Ghulam scored 21 runs and Rashid Khan played an unbeaten 11 runs.

On behalf of Quetta Gladiators, Odin Smith and Qais Ahmed scored two. While Muhammad Hasnain and Muhammad Nawaz dismissed one player each.

Man of the Match

In this match of PSL-8 Shaheen Shah Afridi, the captain of Lahore Qalandars, declared the best player of the match for his excellent bowling performance.

Playing XIs

Sarfraz Ahmed was the Quetta Gladiators captain. While other players included Martin Guptill, Jason Roy, Muhammad Hafeez, Iftikhar Ahmed, Abdul Wahid Banglazai, Muhammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Muhammad Hasnain, Odin Smith and Qais Ahmed. 

The team of Lahore Qalandars under the leadership of Shaheen Shah Afridi entered the field. Which included Fakhar Zaman, Tahir Baig, Shai Hope, Kamran Ghulam, Sikandar Raza, Hussain Talat, Rashid Khan, David Wiese, Haris Rauf and Zaman Khan.
