Punjab government Announces Subsidy of Rs.100 billion

Chairperson Punjab Ehsaas Program Dr. Sania Nishtar presided over the important meeting at 7 Club Road.

Chairman Planning and Development Board Abdullah Khan Sambal, Secretary P&D Dr. Sohail Anwar, CEO Punjab Social Protection Authority Tauseef Ahmad Khatana and other officers attended the meeting.

The method of providing subsidy under the Ehsaas Ration Discount Program was discussed in the meeting.

Dr. Sania Nishtar while speaking said that Punjab has recommended to the cabinet to increase the amount of subsidy under the Ehsaas Ration Discount Program from Rs.1000 to Rs. 2000.

If the subsidy amount is not used, it will be included in next month’s subsidy.

She said that the world appreciated the Ehsaas program at the federal level.

Now the program is being started in Punjab on the instructions of Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan.

Dr. Sania said that people with low income will be able to buy flour, pulses and ghee at cheap prices from the nearest grocery store.

She also said that citizens and shopkeepers will register in the Ehsaas ration discount program through the mobile application.

While families will be registered through a transparent process.

Other family members will be verified from NADRA through the ID card number of the registered person.

She also said that the registration procedure is being made simple and understandable.

Earlier, Dr. Sania Nishtar presided over a meeting regarding providing awareness to the public about Ehsaas Ration Program.

In which Information Secretary Raja Mansoor Ahmed and officers from DGPR participated.

CEO Punjab Social Protection Authority Tauseef Ahmed Khatana also attended the meeting.
