Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman has de-notified Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
In the order of the Governor of Punjab, it states that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi avoids taking the vote of confidence on the day and time specified in the order issue under Article 130(7) of the Constitution, so he is de-notified. While this order Under Punjab Cabinet is also dissolves.
The notification states, it is believe that the Chief Minister does not have the confidence of the majority members of Assembly.
After this notification, the Punjab Cabinet is dissolve, however, Parvaiz Elahi will continue to work as the Chief Minister until the arrival of the new Chief Minister.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) – Elahi’s staunch ally – rejects the governor’s notification.
PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry says that the notification has no legal status. Elahi also announces to approach the court tomorrow.
PTI Spokesperson on Legal Affairs Maleeka Bukhari said that PTI is the largest political party in the province and enjoys the trust of the voters of Punjab.

He adds that “Governor Punjab issues this order in bad intentions. It is a violation of the Constitution. It is arbitrary and against settled principles of jurisprudence.”
