Punjab: Mobile service to remain suspended on Ashura

Punjab: Mobile service to remain suspended on Ashura. According to the Punjab Home Department, mobile phone services remain suspended on the ninth and tenth of Muharram in addition to the army and Rangers stationed in Punjab’s 13 sensitive districts during Muharram.

Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhang, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Sahiwal, Chakwal, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan are among the sensitive districts where the military stationed.

On the ninth and tenth of Muharram, mobile phone service continue to suspended in these areas.

For the deployment of 73 army and 80 Rangers companies, the Home Department has communicated with the federal government.
