Rana Sanaullah, a veteran of the ruling PML-N, categorically declared that the elections not postponed for any particular reason or as part of a plot.
In response to calls for elections to held over the new census, the interior minister stated that “notifying the new census will create more contentious issues.”
In response to a query, a PML-N stalwart claimed that his party had not recommended Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for the position of caretaker prime minister. For the position of caretaker PM, he continued, “Ishaq Dar, Senator Raza Rabbani, or any other politician from a political party named.”
