Filmmaker Sarmad Sultan Khost’s film ‘Kamli’, which has been suffering from constant delays, has been released across Pakistan.
The shooting of ‘Kamli’ had been going on since 2019 and it was thought that it would be released by the end of 2020 or 2021, however due to various reasons its release was delayed.
Following a series of delays, the trailer was released in early April this year and was announced to be released on June 3.
Kamli premiered on May 29 in Lahore, with other cast members including Saba Qamar, Sania Saeed and Sarmad Khost in attendance.
Besides, the premiere of the film was also held in Karachi, during which Saba Qamar was shocked.
“Kamli” released in cinemas across Pakistan on June 3 and almost all its tickets sold out as soon as it was released.
Saba Qamar has played the lead role in the film, along with Sania Saeed and Umair Rana.
Other cast members of the film include Adeel Afzal and Nimrah Bacha and it was shot in different parts of Punjab.
The story of the film is based on female main characters, however, male characters are also shown in important roles.
Regarding her role in ‘Kamli’, Saba Qamar had earlier told media that her role in ‘Kamli’ is very different from her previous roles.
Talking about the story of ‘Kamli’, she said that the story of the film is quite impressive and it can be called a serious romantic story, at the same time she called this film a bigger film than her Bollywood film ‘Hindi Medium’.
The dialogues of ‘Kamli’ are written by Fatima Sattar and directed by Sarmad Sultan Khost.
