Security was provided to Bharatpur Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nupur Sharma, who was suspended for making a blasphemous statement, after receiving death threats.
Yesterday, Nupur Sharma had claimed to have received death threats. Nopur Sharma had requested the police to provide security, citing harassment and threats.
It is to be noted that BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma had spoken insultingly on a TV channel in honor of Islam and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W).
Nupur Sharma was later suspended from the BJP on June 5 for making derogatory remarks.
On the other hand, India and abroad are expressing outrage over the blasphemous statement while the ‘Boycott India’ campaign was also launched in the Arab countries.
According to foreign media reports, Boycott India’s campaign has started in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
