Sri Lankan spinner Prabhat Jayasuriya broke the 71-year-old Test cricket record.

Parbath Jayasuriya has now become the fastest spinner to complete 50 Test wickets.

He completed 50 wickets by dismissing Ireland’s batsman Paul Stirling in his 7th Test match being played in Galle.

Sri Lanka completed a magnificent 2-0 series win over Ireland at Galle after sealing the second game by an innings and 10 runs on Friday, April 28.

After the host batters posted a mountain of 704 runs on the board, Ireland capitulated under pressure and were bowled out for 202 runs after having amassed 492 in the first innings after batting first.
