Surprisingly increase in Mobile Banking subscribers, SBP

The number of mobile banking subscribers in the country reached 11.9 million, with 94 million mobile banking transactions in the country in 3 months.

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has released report on digital payments in the second quarter of FY2022.

According to the report, between October and December 2021, there were 400 million e-transactions worth Rs. 33,400 billion in the country.

While transactions worth Rs. 2200 billion were transacted through mobile banking.

According to the report, payments of Rs 2400 billion were made through inter banking while the number of internet banking users in the country is 6.9 million, who have made 38.3 million payments in 3 months.

According to the report, the volume of digital payments is increasing in the retail sector of the country.

46.8 million plastic cards were issued in the country by December 2021.
