The first sunrise of 2023

The first sunrise of 2023, spreading new rays of hope and determination across the country including Lahore.

The new year has started with new goals, new dreams and prayers for development.

The year 2022 has come to an end with joys and sorrows in its lap.

According to the Meteorological Department, the first sun of the new year rises in Karachi at 7:16 AM.

The Meteorological Department also says that the first sunrise of 2023 will set at 5:54 PM.

The New Year welcomed with firing and fireworks

2023 warmly welcomed across the country. People came out on the streets in various cities including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.

At 12 o’clock last night, as the New Year begin in Pakistan. Spectacular fireworks also displayed in different cities as well as aerial firing.

A few minutes before the end of 2022, aerial firing started in Karachi. Despite a strong counter-campaign by the police, 2023 began with heavy aerial firing, bursting of firecrackers, noise, hurling and rioting.

On the occasion of New Year, there were firing incidents in different areas of Shahr-e-Quaid. In which 22 people including 1 young child injured.

The injured shifted to Civil, Jinnah and Abbasi Shaheed Hospitals.

According to the police, the firing incidents took place in different areas including Saddar, Garden, Lighthouse, Nagin Chowrangi. Also in Civil Hospital, Board Office, Five Star, Hussainabad, Kashmir Colony, Kharadar, Al Asif Square, Eidgah Soomra Gully and Usmanabad.

Thousands of citizens take part in fireworks to welcome the New Year at Karachi’s entertainment spots Clifton Sea View. Bahria Town, Amar Tower, Bagh Ibn Qasim, various hotels, clubs and other places.

Special arrangements carry out by the Karachi Police to avoid possible disturbances and to restore law and order on the occasion of New Year.

A heavy police force deployed under the supervision of senior officers. The police cracked down on the aerial firing in different areas and arrested 6 accused.
