TikTok launches online shopping in US

TikTok launches online shopping in US. According to a blog post, TikTok has finally launched its e-commerce operation in the United States. After months of testing as its Chinese owner ByteDance looks to cash in on the success of the social media app.

Through a number of features on its main app, TikTok is introducing online shopping in an effort to rival the success of Asian marketplaces Shein and PDD Holdings’ (PDD.O) Temu.

With tools for content producers, brands, and merchants to create shoppable content, TikTok’s more than 150 million American users will now be able to see videos and live streams with links to buy things on their feed.

One of the new features is a shop tab, where companies can display their products using TikTok’s logistics and payment services.

The social media company claimed to have integrated its shopping service with a number of external platforms, including Zendesk, Shopify, and Salesforce.
