Tosha Khana reference, when did it happen?

It should be remembered that on August 5, 2022, the Speaker National Assembly for the disqualification of the founder of Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister for not disclosing the gifts received from the Toshakha in the assets on the request of the members belonging to the Ittehad Pakistan Democratic Movement of various parties. Raja Parvez Ashraf sent a reference to the Election Commission.

On August 18, 2022, the Election Commission of Pakistan ordered former Prime Minister Imran Khan to provide documents in the Toshah Khana reference. I submitted my written response.

In a written response from former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Election Commission was told that 58 gifts were presented to the Prime Minister and his wife between August 1, 2018 and December 31, 2021.

On October 21, the Election Commission had disqualified the Tosha Khana reference filed against the founder of PTI and sent the reference of criminal proceedings against him to the court, in which he was disqualified due to non-appearance. An arrest warrant was issued.

While pronouncing the verdict, it was said that the founder of PTI has been disqualified under Article 63 (one) (p) for submitting a false statement, where according to this article he is a member of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) under any law for the time being in force. ) or shall not be eligible to be elected or elected as a member of any Provincial Assembly.

The Election Commission disqualified the PTI founder under sub-clause ‘P’ of Article 63 of the Constitution of Pakistan, while his disqualification period under the said Article of the Constitution will continue till the end of the current assembly.

According to the decision, the founder of PTI was also de-seated from the National Assembly, 22 October 2022 in the Islamabad High Court against the decision of the Election Commission to disqualify the former Prime Minister and the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf in the Tosha Khana case. The application was fixed for hearing.

On October 24, 2022, former Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Athar Minullah rejected the request of the Election Commission to suspend the decision of disqualification of PTI founder in the Tosha Khana case.

On October 29, 2022, the Islamabad High Court scheduled for hearing the petition of former Prime Minister and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf against the Election Commission’s decision to disqualify him in the Tosha Khana case.

On October 31, 2022, the Islamabad High Court rejected the request to suspend the disqualification of the former Prime Minister and founder of PTI in the Tosha Khana reference.

On November 3, 2022, the Lahore High Court had reserved its decision on the petition filed to remove the PTI founder from the leadership of the party after his disqualification in the Toshah Khana reference. Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi sentenced to 14 years of hard labor.
