US urges Pakistan to hold free, fair and timely elections

US urges Pakistan to hold free, fair and timely elections. According to Matthew Miller, a spokesperson for the State Department, on Wednesday, the United States urged Pakistan to hold free, fair, and on-time elections.

Matthew Miller responded to a question during a briefing for journalists in Washington by saying, “US urges Pakistan to hold free and fair elections in a timely manner, and to respect human rights, fundamental freedoms, and the rule of law. And as we do with other nations around the world, we firmly implore Pakistani authorities to proceed with the election in a way that complies with Pakistani law.

In response to a different query, Matthew Miller stated: “Pakistan is a crucial ally of ours. Additionally, we place a high value on the connections between our two governments and the citizens of our respective nations.

A spokesperson for the State Department responded to a different query by saying that the US would encourage Pakistan and Afghanistan to cooperate in order to resolve the Torkham border issue.
