Fans are looking unhappy with the last episode of Atif Aslam’s first drama ‘Sang-e-Mah’ which started earlier this year and some critics termed the end of the drama as ‘Ram Leela’.
‘Sang-e-Mah’ started in January 2022 and its first episode was released in cinemas.
The last 26th episode aired on Sunday, July 3, showing a Jirga to end the Ghagh ritual in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) tribal areas.
Although the play ended with the end of a wrong ritual ‘Ghagh’, the suicides of Noman Ijaz and Samia Mumtaz made the audience unhappy and disappointed.
At the end of the play, Noman Ijaz and Samia Mumtaz committed suicide because in the past, Atif Aslam’s father Helmand had married Samia Mumtaz under the ritual of ‘Ghagh’, who was later killed by Samia Mumtaz who later married to Noman Ijaz.
Noman Ijaz and Samia Mumtaz committed suicide because of the same murder verdict, because in fact it was not Samia Mumtaz but Noman Ijaz who had killed Atif Aslam’s father Helmand in the past and married his mother.
The jirga convicted Samia Mumtaz instead of Noman Ijaz, which led them committing suicide together and the audience expressed frustration over it.
On Twitter, users commented on the last episode of the play, calling the end of ‘Sang-e-Mah’ disappointing and wrote that the play started like ‘Helmet’ but ended like ‘Ram Leela’.
Many people wrote that the last episode ended at good note by the end of ritual ‘Ghagh’ but the suicide of Noman Ijaz and Samia Mumtaz spoiled the fun.
Most people also praised the love of Noman Ijaz and Samia Mumtaz and wrote that they should not have committed suicide.
In the last episode of the play, some people were happy that Atif Aslam and Kabra Khan from Helmand had reached their respective destinations.
Other cast members of the play included Zaviar Ijaz, Haniya Amir, Kubra Khan and Sania Saeed along with Meekal Zulfiqar.
The play was directed by Saifi Hassan, who also directed the first season of the play, ‘Sang-e-Mar Mar’.
‘Sang-e-Mah’ was a sequel to the 2016 drama ‘Sang-e-Mar Mar’.
