Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has said that Pakistan’s first IT city is being built in Lahore.
The third cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, in which approval of the annual budget and supplementary budget grant was approved.
The land will be transferred to the CBD to build Pakistan’s largest IT city.
Maryam Nawaz says that tech giants have shown interest in IT City.
Chief Minister Punjab also directed to completion of both the towers of IT City in one year.
The project of supplying 20 thousand electric bikes was also approved in the meeting.
Maryam Nawaz said that e-bikes are necessary to reduce pollution, but they are not suitable at present due to battery theft and low mileage and have decided to give petrol bikes along with electric bikes.
She said that to reduce the burden on students, the down payment will be reduced to 25 thousand and the monthly installment will be less than 5 thousand. The distribution of bikes will be started from May this year.
Maryam Nawaz said that they will bring a separate scheme to give bikes to the students who have achieved significant success in the examinations.
Apart from this, in the meeting, approval was also given to hand over Knowledge Park to Punjab Central Business District Authority.
Maryam Nawaz said that major educational institutions of the world will be invited to build campuses in Knowledge City.
It should be noted that yesterday the provincial cabinet of Punjab approved the supplementary budget of 4480 billion rupee.
