Following the success of the no-confidence movement against Imran Khan, the country’s new Prime Minister will be elected in the National Assembly today.
Opposition parties have nominated Shahbaz Sharif and PTI has nominated Shah Mehmood Qureshi for the PM post.
The National Assembly Secretariat rejected the PTI’s objections and accepted Shahbaz Sharif’s nomination papers for the PM post, while Shah Mehmood’s nomination papers were also accepted.
Following the success of the no-confidence movement against Imran Khan, the new Leader of the House of the National Assembly will be elected today.
The National Assembly session will begin at 2 pm today, the agenda of which has also been released.
Earlier, Shahbaz Sharif had not submitted his nomination papers and had arrived in person with the leaders of the allied parties.
It may be recalled that the no-confidence movement against Prime Minister Imran Khan was successful in the National Assembly on Saturday night after which he is no longer the Prime Minister of the country and at the same time became the first Prime Minister of the country to be removed through mistrust.
