The world’s oldest red lipstick has been discovered in Iran.
According to foreign media, archaeologists say that a small glass-like stone object discovered in southeastern Iran contained a red material that was used to apply on the lips about 4,000 years ago.
According to foreign media, an analysis of a sample of the lipstick showed that 80 percent of its content was based on deep red color-giving minerals such as hematite.
The researchers hypothesized that the material may have been used for purposes other than makeup, but the deep red color, ingredients, and texture of the box suggest that it was used on the lips.
