KARACHI: Leading musician and singer of Pakistani music industry Zohaib Hassan is angry that his famous song ‘Dosti’ has been broadcast without permission.
Zohaib Hassan shared a poster of the drama serial ‘Sanaf-e-Ahan’ on Facebook in which his famous song ‘Dosti’ was broadcast.
He wrote in the caption, “When will Pakistan respect the copyrights and intellectual property rights of others?”
He tweeted to explain his anger over his song ‘Dosti’ being broadcast without permission.
Zohaib Hassan shared some photos of his late sister singer Nazia Hassan’s foundation on Twitter and wrote: Some people think that I objected to the use of my song ‘Dosti’ without permission to get money from ISPR and Sinf-e-Aahan team.
He wrote that “it is very disturbing and wrong to have such thoughts even after that all the royalties of Nazia and my songs are devoted to charitable activities in Pakistan under the Nazia Hassan Foundation.”
Meanwhile, B&H International Pvt Ltd, which owns the copyright to all the songs written and composed by Nazia and Zohaib, has issued a statement in this regard.
A statement from B&H said, “We are aware that our song ‘Dosti’, sung by Zohaib Hassan and Nazia Hassan , has been commercially broadcast without our prior permission. “Therefore, we reserve the right to take action against all parties involved in or involved in such violations,” the statement added.
