Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar meet with IMF officials and World Bank President David Malpass during his visit to America.
Regarding the visit of Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to the US, the Ministry of Finance issues a statement in which it states that the Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department of the IMF, Jihad Azur, expresses his regret over the flood situation in Pakistan.
It says that the extension program will help Pakistan deal with the post-Covid-19 situation. According to the statement, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, in a meeting with the Deputy Managing Director of the IMF, informed him about the extraordinary losses due to floods, gave a briefing about the government’s measures for stability, sustainability and recovery of the economy.
The Finance Ministry statement says that the Deputy Managing Director of the IMF appreciates the steps taken by the government of Pakistan to revive the economy and assures future cooperation.
The statement says that IMF officials tell that Pakistan shows commitment to complete the IMF programme.
