Tennis star Sania Mirza announced retirement

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza says that she will retire after the Dubai Tennis Championship next month.

According to the report of the foreign news agency “Reuters”, former captain Shoaib Malik’s wife Sania Mirza wins 6 Grand Slam doubles titles. This month she will participate in the final of the Australian Open.

She wins the women’s doubles title in Australia in 2016.

Sania Mirza give an interview to the World Tennis Association (WTA) and says that she will retire after the World Tennis Association Finals. Because we were about to reach the World Tennis Finals but then I got injured. And the US Open including had to withdraw from other competitions.’

She further says that ‘My aim is to play the WTA 1000 in Dubai and then retire.’

The 36-year-old Sania Mirza plans to retire at the end of 2022, but in August she was pulled out of the US Open due to an injury.

“I am a do-it-yourself person, so I didn’t want an injury to end my career, so I continued training,” she added.

The tennis star says in an interview that I am 36 years old now I need rest, that’s the reason for retirement.

The tennis star became the first Indian woman to win a WTA singles title in India. When she won the event in her hometown Hyderabad in 2005.

She remains in the world rankings until 2007, when she ranked 27th.

The tennis star included in the top 30 female athletes in 2007.

Sania Mirza will compete with Kazakhstan’s Anna Danielina in the Australian Open starting January 16 before retiring in the UAE.
