Another rain spell expected from Aug 23. According to News the Met Office has predicted additional monsoon rains for the upper parts of the country from August 23 to 27.
According to the weather report, upper parts of the country will likely experience moderate monsoon currents. From the Arabian Sea, and on August 23 a westerly wave is also likely to enter in these areas.
Rainfall expected in Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Kohat, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi and Nowshera from 23rd to 27th August with occasional gaps.
From August 24 to August 26, there will be rain/wind-thundershowers in Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Karak, Waziristan, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, and Bhakkar.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasted severe weather for the 25th and 26th of August. For the districts of Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Musa Khel, Barkhan, Zhob, Kalat, and Khuzdar.
In Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Abbottabad, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Galliyat, Murree. And Rawalpindi/Islamabad, moderate to heavy falls may increase local Nullahs’ or streams’ water flows.
On August 25 and 26, the hill torrents in Dera Ghazi Khan. And the surrounding northeast Balochistan areas will swell with high water flows.
PDMA issues alert India releases more water in Sutlej
From August 23 to August 26, moderate to heavy rains could result in urban flooding in low-lying parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and Lahore.
They could also cause landslides in vulnerable areas like Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and hilly parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
