The federal government has decided to make Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Nasreen Jalil the governor of Sindh and sent a summary to President Dr. Arif Alvi.
According to sources, a summary has been sent by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to appoint Nasreen Jalil as Governor Sindh.
Muttahida Qaumi Moment (MQM) Pakistan had nominated Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif five names for the governorship of Sindh, including Nasreen Jalil, Aamir Khan, Amir Chishti, Wasim Akhtar and Kishore Zehra.
However, the Prime Minister finalized the name of Nasreen Jalil in consultation with the united leadership.
Nasreen Jalil will be the new Governor of Sindh after approval from the Presidency.
Federal Minister for Information Maryam Aurangzeb also confirmed the news.
It should be noted that if the summary is approved by the President, Nasreen Jalil will be the first female governor of Sindh after almost half a century.
Before her, Rana Liaquat Ali Khan, wife of the late Liaquat Ali Khan, the first Prime Minister of Pakistan, was the Governor of Sindh from 1973 to 1975.
