Akshay Kumar breaks silence on Box Office failures. Bollywood A-lister Akshay Kumar addressed his recent string of box office failures.
The Bollywood Khiladi recently spoke with an Indian business publication about the disastrous year of his career, 2022, when none of his four theatrical releases and an OTT release managed to make an impact on audiences.
Kumar said, “I have experienced many cycles of ups and downs in my life. When things are going well, everyone praises them, and when they’re not, there is more criticism than you can imagine.
“Yes, I am human, and good feels good, and bad feels bad, but I am also proud of the ability I have to move on extremely quickly,” he continued to admit.
I have the same drive I did on my first day of work, and that is what propels me forward. Nobody can take that away from me, either! There is no choice but to keep moving forward.
The actor continued, “There is a higher power that sees everything and it compounds and gives you back the results of the honest hard work you put in.
When asked if the Box Office results affected him, Kumar highlighted them and responded, “Of course they do. The box office results determine whether we succeed or fail. You refer to those as hits and flops.
“The audiences tell us when we are doing things right and wrong, and all that is reflected in the box office numbers because if a film doesn’t work, that means people didn’t come to see it, which in turn means they didn’t connect to it. And it indicates that now is the time to make a change, he said.

It is important to note that Akshay Kumar’s final box office success came from Rohit Shetty’s “Sooryavanshi” (2021).
In terms of movies, Kumar most recently appeared in “Selfiee,” his first release of the year. In the meantime, he has a compelling slate of movies scheduled for 2023, including “OMG 2,” “The Great Indian Rescue,” the untitled remake of “Soorarai Pottru,” and a Marathi film.
He also has the threequels to “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” and “Hera Pheri” in the works.
