A man in the US state of Iowa is on his way to set a record for collecting pencils. American citizen collected 70000 pencils since childhood.
Erin Bartholomew of Colfax has been collecting wooden pencils since childhood.
Erin claims to have more than 70,000 pencils, more than three times the Guinness Book of World Records record for pencil collection.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the record for holding the most pencils is held by Emilio Arenas of Uruguay, who has 24,000 pencils.
Erin said while talking to the media that the most valuable pencils are those from his own city, the pencils of some companies are proof that a company of that name once existed because most of these companies Now closed.
Two weeks ago, members of the American Pencil Collectors Society went to count Erin’s pencils.
Erin is now waiting to see if her inventory is approved, a step that will be completed in three months.
