Google to set up local office in Pakistan: IT Minister

Google has decided to set up a local office in Pakistan for which a company delegation will visit Pakistan next month.

These views expressed by Federal Minister for Information Technology Aminul Haque. While addressing an event organized in Islamabad under the title of ‘Smartphone for All’.

According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Information Technology, Google has finally decided to open its office in Pakistan.

After which the company is fulfilling the legal requirements for setting up the office.

Officials say that Google has been registered with the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) after the document clears. He states that a Google delegation will visit Pakistan in the second week of December this year.

According to the statement, other social media platforms are also going to start their operations in Pakistan.

In this regard, Tik Tok has also agreed to open an office in Pakistan. In the next few weeks, Tik Tok will open its office in Pakistan.

While he is also in touch with the officials of Facebook and soon their delegation will also come to Pakistan.

According to officials, IT company Google had applied in May to start its operations in Pakistan.
