Imran Khan Reveals July 2 Protest Plan in Islamabad

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has announced that he will lead a protest on July 2 at the Parade Ground in Islamabad against the US-imposed imported government.

According to the media report, the announcement is by the former prime minister is in line with the decision to end the independence march with an immediate six-day ultimatum to the PML-N government to announce an election date.

A meeting of the PTI Political Committee was held under the chairmanship of Imran Khan in which the overall political situation of the country was reviewed during the rising inflation and the future course of action was considered.

The meeting was attended by PTI Central Secretary General Asad Umar, Pervez Khattak, Asad Qaiser and Amir Mahmood Kayani and other central and regional leaders of the party.

Leaders participating in the meeting condemned the lawlessness seen during the first phase of local body elections in Sindh and expressed deep concern over it.

The leaders termed the situation created during the local body elections in Sindh as a failure of the Election Commission of Pakistan to hold fair, transparent and credible elections.

However, during the meeting, they expressed “happiness” and “satisfaction” over the PTI’s clear victory in PK-7 Swat constituency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the PTI defeated the ANP candidate backed by 13 political parties.

According to a statement issued by PTI, the leaders expressed their concerns over allegations of pre-election rigging by the coalition government in the July 17 by-elections in 20 constituencies in Punjab.

The PTI leaders termed the enthusiasm of the people regarding the by-elections as a ray of hope and said that the days of the government has counted.

During the meeting, a briefing was also given regarding the preparations for the protest to be held at Parade Ground Islamabad.

Meanwhile, the leaders of PTI Rawalpindi and Islamabad were also instructed to intensify their preparations and campaign of Awami Tehreek to make the event historic.

The PTI leaders also reviewed the government’s measures regarding budget approval and price hikes.

Highlighting the protest strategy, the PTI chairman said that he would lead the July 2 protest rally, adding that a strong movement against the present government is essential.

The former prime minister said that people from all walks of life, especially the youth and women, have become more politically conscious than ever before and this was expressed by the people reacting strongly against the removal of his government.

The PTI chairman alleged that the ‘local Mir Jaffar’ is violating the constitution, law and democratic values ​​more ruthlessly than the dictators.

On the other hand, another development took place when former Prime Minister Imran’s Chief of Staff Shahbaz Gul told in a news conference that the police had claimed about the employee detained from Bani Gala that he is not mentally healthy.

Regarding the employee arrested from Bani Gala yesterday, Shahbaz Gul said that the accused was hired several years ago. He was caught red-handed while installing a device in Imran Khan’s bedroom.
