Imran Khan to contest the Chancellor election of Oxford University

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, despite being imprisoned in Adiala jail in various cases, will participate in the election for the post of chancellor of the famous Oxford University of Great Britain.

According to the report of the British magazine ‘The Telegraph’, the seat of chancellor of Oxford University has become vacant after the resignation of the former governor of Hong Kong and the 80-year-old chairman of the Tory party, Lord Patton, who held the post for 21 years.

In this regard, Zulfi Bukhari, advisor to the founder of PTI, while giving an interview, said that Imran Khan will contest the election for the chancellorship of Oxford University because people demand that he contest this election.

He said that after getting permission from Imran Khan, we will officially announce this news and start the signature campaign.

Zulfi Bukhari added that the PTI founder is the most suitable person for this post and we hope that he will win the election.

The report of the British magazine ‘The Telegraph’ also states that this will be the first time that the election of the chancellor of Oxford University will be online unlike the traditional method.

According to the traditional procedure for the election of the Chancellor, this position is usually given to the students who have completed their education from this university and all the candidates have to attend the election ceremony in person with full protocol.

According to reports, the PTI founder is facing former British prime ministers Sir Tony Blair and Boris Johnson in this election, so the competition has become tough.

It should be remembered that Imran Khan received a degree in Economics and Politics from Keble College of Oxford University in 1972 and has also been the captain of the university’s cricket team.

The PTI founder also served as the Chancellor of the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom from 2005 to 2014 before deciding to contest the election for the post of Chancellor of the University of Oxford.
